Corrib Physiotherapy are delighted to announce that from October 2014, we will be working with the Galway Parkinson’s Association to provide their members with a comprehensive and local physiotherapy service.
For people with Parkison’s Disease physiotherapy is a vital element into managing their condition. Physiotherapy helps patients to manage their symtoms such as ‘shuffling gait’ and ‘freezing’. Physiotherapy helps people to have better mobility, to be stronger and have better balance. The overall goal is to improve patients quality of life.
Since meeting with the members, we have been delighted to see their enthusiasm and dedication to physiotherapy.
The Galway Parkinson’s Association run physiotherapy programmes in Galway City, Tuam and Athenry. The programme involves group exercise classes one morning a week for 6 weeks.
Anyone with a diagnosis of Parkinsons Disease can become a member of Galway Parkinson’s Association. Once a member, you will be advised about starting physiotherapy. The best way of contacting the Galway Parkinson’s Association is to call Marie Cahill on (087) 778325.
